Round 15 was smooth. Did my bloodwork and then met with the PA Scott Thompson. We reviewed my bloodwork as usual and then the big news came... I am hesitant to even write this but I think it is an important piece of my story that needs to be documented. He said that if my upcoming MRI and CT tests come back clear- this will be my last round of chemo! It is surreal to even type that and I dont want to get ahead of myself and get too excited but I am so hopeful and ready. Mike and I had him go back and double check to confirm haha. This was big news to us because I was expecting to still have about 5 more rounds after this.

During this round of chemo we had another amazing room with a bed and a window view. The treatment was Irinotecan and 5fu to take home. This round we filled my pump with glycerin for the first time. The process was the same but the glycerin is ticker so the process takes a little longer. BUT I wont have to have the pump filled for 3 months which is awesome. I have had to have it poked every 2 weeks since getting it in April.

Photo above is the needle in the pump while getting the glycerin fill. (The needle is 3x the size of what is sticking out)

My side effects were as expected- a lot of brain fog, nausea, and fatigue. I think the excitement of potentially being done fueled me to start feeling better sooner. Instead of feeling crummy for 7 days- I felt mostly back to normal by Saturday (about 5 days).

On the 4th it was our 8 year wedding anniversary. Mike got me some beautiful flowers but we plan to celebrate in a week or so.

On the 7th we planned a surprise birthday for Mike. It was his 40th on the 8th and we had to do something to celebrate him. I was so nervous we wouldn't pull it off but with the help of our family and friends- He was so surprised and it was perfect.

Then on the 8th I had my MRI and CT scans. Both were with contrast and the process went smooth.

I have my appointment with Dr. Kasi on the 16th to review the scans and get all the updates.

I will be sure to write the updates here once I get them.
