9.16.25 I got to ring the BELL!!! At my last appointment (on 9.2) it was mentioned that if my scans came back clear (ctDNA, MRI, and CT scan) that 9.2 would be my last round of chemo. I had my scans on 9.8 and a few days later we got the reports back. From our interpretation of them the MRI looked great but the CT scan had a questionable note about my lung. It stated "There is a punctate nodule in the peripheral right right lower lobe measuring 0.4 cm (17/237) which may be post inflammatory however needs imaging surveillance." So, when my appointment on the 16th came around I really wasn't sure what the plan would be for the appointment or what the Dr would say about my lung. I packed my special dress just in case and had the kiddos on standby with the grandparents. The appointment started off as usual- blood draw and then upstairs to meet with Dr. Kasi. After reviewing my scans and the amount of chemo I have already had he said I have had more chemo than the average person with the pump and we could potentially hurt the liver more if we do more. I did "tripple chemo" and 4 rounds of chemo in the pump- many people dont end up getting the full systemic before toxicity happens- let alone systemic with the HAI pump. So Dr. Kasi said he feels good about stopping chemo and closely monitoring me. As soon as our appointment ended we all walked down the hall together with the medical team to the infusion room. The moment was full of emotions and I am forever grateful for the team that has made this possible. Then the kiddos and grandparents headed over and we were able to ring it again so they could see. We also met with the radiation Dr. to discuss possibly doing radiation on the 5th spot on my liver that was untreated. It disappeared after doing chemo and the surgeon was unable to see it- it is still unseen on the scans (which is great) but if they do radiation on it- they would want to see something. Hopefully it never reappears but I am open to treating the spot where it was even if it is unseen. As far as the lung- it is too small to determine what it is but Dr. Kasi has reached out to the laparoscopic lung surgeon to get his opinion on if he wants to just keep an eye on it or if it is best to just snip it out if there was any concern. The plan moving forward- bloodwork (personalis ctDNA) and appointments every 3 weeks and then scans ever 3ish months. I also plan to continue my vitamin c infusions, keep up on my healthy eating, focus on meditations and regain my strength through working out. God is good I am thankful for everyone who has stepped in to help out during these past 9 months. Everyone who babysat, drove carpool, prayed for us, sent care packages, and dropped off meals- I felt so uplifted and supported- you guys carried me through this and I couldn't have done it without you.
